This Year’s Geneva Show to Feature Electric European Cars

It is normal to find the latest ultra-fast racers, supercars, and concept cars in the yearly Geneva Auto Show. However, this year’s show will highlight the latest electric cars from major manufacturers that include Audi, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, and Jaguar.

European carmakers are trying to compete with Tesla, especially after the Model S outsold both BMW 7 series and Mercedes Benz S class in Europe last year. More countries are thinking of banning fossil-fuel cars, and that’s why consumers are turning to electric vehicles today. Once Tesla overcomes the flaws of the Model 3, major car manufacturers have more to fear from the top electric carmaker.

One of the most hype electric cars from the Geneva Auto Show is the Audi E-Tron. Audi first introduced the car in Shanghai in 2017. The German carmaker offered test rides on the showgrounds.

Bentley unveiled its first electric car hybrid. The luxury carmaker turned the Bentayga into a hybrid by pairing the powerful V6 engine with an electric battery. People are curious as to how well the fastest SUV on the market can perform with an electric battery.

Honda unveiled a new CR-V model with a hybrid powertrain. The new model will be available in the US market by the end of the end. It is just the next step in the company’s plan to create electrified variants of all its models.

Another electric car featured in the Geneva Auto Show is the Hyundai Kona Electric SUV. It features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The long-range version will be competitive with Tesla and the Chevy Bolt in the EU. However, Hyundai didn’t reveal the price of both the long- and short-range versions.
